Oh boy, don't even get me started on this one. My job is actually being outsourced to Bangalore. Why? Not because I suck. Oh no, I rock. I'm very good at what I do. They do it because it's cheaper. Not because they can't afford me, no. Only and only because it's cheaper. It's a huge corporation with I dunno, something like $150 000 000 a year turnaround.

Profit and money talks, bullshit walks. That's how corporations think right now.

The problem is, when people like me, too, start to go out of work, there won't be any customers left to buy their stuff. The evil circle starts and they go bust. Economy tanks and everyone suffers.

I generally dislike Forbes and Businessweek because their articles always seem to take an absolute pro-business stance no matter what. I have to admit this article shocked me. Steve Denning covers a report from the Aspen Institute that questions the notion that corporations exist solely to "maximize profits for shareholders".
