It's on hold right now, but thanks for your assistance. If it ends up going through I'll post back.

How did your project go by the way? Did you get a server?

Haha, they probably want to "hide" the download for the barebone as much as possible because it's free. Although, their Web sites are ALWAYS messy.

Yeah you are right...If you google Hyper-V Server, you get this page: ... 48xUzq9IJY and this page: ... 48604.aspx

The second page has no download link for the standalone Hyper-V. Totally stupid!

!, 2014-07-01 18:33 » ... 05299.aspx ...yeah, I just tested the button. I had to login first. It's Microsoft after all, there be fools over there.

MasterOne, 2014-07-01 18:32 »

Thanks, I saw that...but why are they hiding it in a place nobody can find? :D

I did give you the link in here: The green big fat juicy "GET STARTED NOW" button.

I see no separate download for Hyper-V; the only thing I find is this page: ... 48xUzq9IJY

MasterOne, 2014-07-01 18:21 »

Ahh, I found one:

Yeah I know, fucktards. I hate their "documentation".

Hm, no. Hyper-V Server 2012 R2 is a seprate download. The "Hyper-V" which comes with the "Windows Server 2012 R2" is different, like a module inside it which you install and activate.

I personally never installed the barebone Hyper-V Server 2012 R2 but I reckon, it's probably an ISO file which you boot with and install the barebone hypervisor on the server.

Maybe this video will help:
