Fool's design.

Spotify - Be quick or be dead, where is the current tune in the playlist?

That's right, almost impossible to know which song in the list is currently playing without first reading the text above or below the screen and then trying to locate the song in the playlist. 16.000.000+ colors and they could not pick a different color than what the rest of the songs in the list have, to highlight the currently played tune.

16.000.000+ colors to choose and they failed to pick one!

I fear software developers are beginning to utilize marketing techniques where they hide thing and make thing obscure in order to make you use their software longer. Thus, they can get you to stare at their shitware longer in hopes you will feel more attached to it, due to having a longer time investment during the learning curve. This results in hipsters feeling superior to other people who won't invest the unneeded time, and also increases the chance that they will continue to use the crapware, since they are heavily invested in it.
