I'm starting to see that the index.dat and desktop.ini files are related to Wininet. Don't think that I really want to kill that off. I'm seeing too that one could over think this stuff. Revenge Of Mozilla has some undesired consequences.

First I want to greet the forum, as it is my first post here.
To PROBLEMCHYLD,
I would like to install only the MPC, and only after the additional codecs.
If you want, could you explain how to obtain the individual codecs that you specified and how to install them?

Just extract the downloaded cab file and run the batch file.
