I wonder how many people will read the Chm help file. I had figured this out through trial and error. When ever you add a new icon to the desktop or delete a icon from the desktop, you must save a new layout so the registry is updated.

What happens if you don't? Just curious.

It's been a while since I've been here, but 3.33 is still working fine and meeting my needs. I very much appreciate the effort that went into the service pack(s) and what it takes to keep this forum running. I just downloaded 3.35 and will be installing it shortly. The instructions are clear & easy to follow. The help files are equally clear. This is a blessing for those of us who refrain from giving Mr. Gates any more $. (IMO) An OS should have a life span of decades, not years.

Far to many stupid posts for not having read the instruction... idiots not able to figure out how or where to post... and way to few showing appreciation for all the effort that goes into the sp's and the running of a forum...

Thank you!

Amen! You must put considerable time in to tracking down all those files and testing them out, PROBLEMCHYLD. Those time zone updates and the root certs updates are nice touch! Thanks so much!

It will forget the layout of the desktop icons, which is annoying. The user will have to set them up again and save a new layout. Other than that, there is no major issues. :eek:

Me working on the SP keeps me out of trouble and prison :thumbup: "An idle mind is the devil's workshop." When I'm not working 10-12 hours a day, I need to occupy my time. I don't watch much TV or listen to the radio unless I'm driving.

I watch about 5hrs of TV a week depending on the time of year and season. I'm more into the spy, espionage and conspiracy type shit. Call me an enthusiast :mrgreen:

Revenge - ABC
Person of Interest - CBS
The Walking Dead - AMC
The Mentalist - CBS
The Blacklist - NBC
Graceland - USA

This is my life, I'm content with it, although I wish for better, until then I'll settle. Have a very fucked up day!

Can we get the title of this thread updated? Still reads 'Unofficial Windows 98 Second Edition Service Pack 3.35'.

PROBLEMCHYLD, thanks again! You have a fucked up day too, brother! :lol:

Hello, something strange ...
We're now on about page 32 of the thread - but meanwhile, (at time
UTC 15:53 on Saturday, November 8, 2014) back on page 1;
viewtopic.php?f=30&t=65
I notice that the download link (for 3.36, in this sentence);
"(Regular HTTP-download: U98SESP3.36.EXE)"
is seen as:
http://www.techtalk.cc/download/U98SESP3.36.EXE
but when I click it, it instead directs to;
http://tnemesitrevda.techtalk.cc/techtalk.cc.001.png
which is a png showing the wwwtechtalkcc URL.

Not a big problem, as the link to htasoft works (and SP downloads OK).

I say strange, because it doesn't seem to be a 'techtalk server offline for maintenence'
circumstance, as going to;
http://www.techtalk.cc/viewtopic.php?t=65
and clicking the link in that webpages "(Regular HTTP-download: U98SESP3.36.EXE)"
does correctly go to;
http://www.techtalk.cc/download/U98SESP3.36.EXE
and you can download the SP3.36 from that techtalk URL.
FYI
