I have used Adblock Plus too though, I suppose both work pretty good.

Checkout uBlock Origin. It's better than ABP in pretty much every regard; so much so, I don't know why people are still using ABP other than that they don't know a better alternative exists. It's better on CPU and RAM as you can see below. Avoid "uBlock", and make sure you download "ublock Origin". There was a developer rift a while back, and eventually the codebase was forked and two different versions were formed. In all the research I've done ublock Origin is the better version between the two forks.

I feel kinda silly replying to this over three years after the fact, but this is actually very good. I recently installed Seamonkey 2.49.5 on my XP system and while I could get AdBlock Plus to install (older version) it was extremely difficult to configure via the UI. I don't know. I never thought it's silly replying to a very old thread. Many forums even lock old threads, completely moronic. So many times, just a few words from someone randomly adding to an old thread helped me immensely get out of some jam.
Sad part is, most of the time, they never even get a thank you because forums are so messed up out there, one can't just reply without registering an account. 
All true, I can easily see where someone might want a file and the download link is no longer unavailable, might have questions about something someone did, clarification, something to add.... the list could go on and on.
We've spoken about what the internet in general is becoming. I must say, it's nice to have the freedom to disagree, not necessarily go along with the groupthink, to pepper my comments with a few expletives when the mood strikes and not to pretend that everything is smiley-happy-wonderful when it's not and to be around people who are adult enough to handle such things.
