The little utility that I used to check CPUs for SSE2 in Windows XP has been updated and, apparently, has a new site:

Been enjoying LTris on the Linux disto:
https://lgames.sourceforge.io/LTris/
I see there's a Windows build, not sure of the exact Window requirements. There's other games listed there too.

DOSBox apparently can't run Microsoft's SHARE.EXE. I downloaded a program that whined for it. I happened to remember an old utility named fakeshar and tracked it down. The program didn't like it and still whined for SHARE.EXE. Anywho, in my searching, I found another utility called noshare. Noshare worked. I found it at a simtel mirror:

This is rather nice, I don't have to set it up, I can run and remove it on-demand:-------------------------------------------------------------------------

This small TSR (Terminate and Stay-Resident) program provides
*dummy* SHARE functionality. That is, it makes believe that
the DOS SHARE extension is installed although it is not. This
is especially useful for Word for Windows 6.0 users who don't
want the hassles of loading SHARE.
To install, type at the DOS prompt (outside Windows):
NOSHARE /INSTALL
To remove the TSR:
NOSHARE /REMOVE
Typing NOSHARE alone or with the /HELP switch will display an
help screen.

Long ago, in the before-fore times, there was a post @msfn. A couple of fucktards named ProblemChyld and Steven W were there:

It's really a shame that, outside of ProblemChyld putting Word in SP3, nobody really expanded on the ideas there. That Steven W asswipe is pointing out that more than Word could be made to 'work', with a few extra bits in addition to the files from Office 97 sr2b. The stupid fucker realized some time later that doing the things mentioned there also work under WINE on Linux.
