Okay, do you guys know of any places to get music, free and legally?
I'll get the ball rolling:
http://freemusicarchive.org/
WARNING: if you play anything from the first "artist" current listed there, Tunnel of Love, turn your speakers way the fuck down.
May have to wade through a lot of shit, but there is good stuff there too.

I use Spotify! Shame on me!
...but man, for $10 or so a month, you can eat all the music you want for a full month. I like it because not only the price is good... if you like some artists or album, it shows you "related music" which works EXCELLENTLY. I have found so many great albums from their recommended/related stuff thet it isn't even funny. I would have never found them otherwise, no sir, not in a thousand years.

Coming from you, that's quite a recommendation.
Just found http://www.jamendo.com. Looks like you have to pay attention to licenses, but still pretty cool. Lots of stuff free for personal use.

Hehe yeah, I hate binding myself to subscription stuff but music isn't THAT important. The only thing I know I MUST do is to save the list (HUGE 1000+ tunes) which I have in case Spotify shuts their service so I can buy those tunes again.
I would never trust my private files on any "cloud subscription", however.
Hm... come to think of it, I do like Steam too!

Hehe, yeah give me downloads or give death. Hehe. I do occasionally buy a few tracks from Amazon. I don't really get into it enough for a monthly service to be worthwhile, but did do emusic for while:
