Hello everyone!

We have now moved the Web site to a new hosting company.

 The new hosting company we are using is called "Tilaa" (http://www.tilaa.com). They are excellent in terms of price and the level of service they provide. Their products are high quality and support staff are very polite and helpful. We strongly recommend "Tilaa" in case you are looking for a VPS (Virtual Private Server). From your account at their Web site, it is possible to scale the VPS up or down, from RAM to CPU to storage, everything can be edited on the fly.

We have used many hosting companies during the past 10+ years for the other communities we used to have with thousands of members and "Tilaa" is absolutely excellent. Please bear in mind that they have NOT paid us to write about them but we feel that they are so good that they deserve to be mentioned.

Again, if you are in need of a VPS, we strongly recommend you to check out their products and services at http://www.tilaa.com.
Excellent, excellent... excellent company! True story!

(For the record, there was nothing wrong with the Namecheap business hosting plan which we had earlier, it worked perfectly but this new place is much faster and we have full control over the machines so it fits our needs much better.)

There are still some small bugs we need to resolve because we decided to use the latest PHP 5.5.0 and phpBB have some issues with this version and is not fully compatible so if you see odd errors, please do let us know.

One visible issue is that the "Last post" does not work for some reason. It always shows "No posts". We are aware that "dates" do not work and show up right now. We are working on it. SOLVED!

Some fun facts, the Web site is now running on Microsoft SQL Server which makes life much easier and is also hosted on a 1Gbps line so things should be much faster. We have two servers running Windows Server 2012. One is the main server and the second one is a mirror server in case the first one goes down. Each of the servers are located at two different cities and are physically separated.

Please accept our apologies for the downtime.

Thank you,

Ps. All of this is of course possible due our friends at Paranormal Stories. :relaxed:

Ds. The old fool-AT-foolsdesign.org email is no longer valid!

Note:

:!:
...We have planned new network maintenance for the upcoming weekend. We are going to deploy a new 10GbE core network layer and take our new dark fiber ring between our 2 datacenters into production. The core network migration will happen on Saturday July 20th between 0:00AM and 06:00AM CEST. You can expect to see small amounts of packet loss and higher latency and possibly a couple of minutes network downtime within this time frame.

Our new core network will improve available bandwidth and redundancy. Our dark fibers will remove our dependancy on third party network providers for interconnectivity between our datacenters.

To prepare for this migration we will need to make some preparations during the week, such as installing new network uplink modules, optics and fibers to connect to our new core network. These changes will not have any impact and will not cause network downtime...
