Since Patch Tuesday this past week, Microsoft has been receiving reports of severe system errors caused by one or more of the updates. In response, the company has pulled several updates from download channels and offered advice on how to remove them. In one case, it recommends that users uninstall the update.

Remember when this used to be an extraordinarily rare occurrence? Gotta wonder how long the fanboys can make excuses for all that's wrong with Microsoft and its products.

Microsoft's Black Tuesday problems continue to pile up. Yesterday brought to light problems with KB 2952664, the seventh patch with that name....

KB3004394.....The update created trouble specifically with computers running Windows 7 Service Pack 1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 by clobbering their ability to install future updates.

The second buggy update is geared toward enterprise customers and IT administrators as it affects Microsoft Exchange. On December 10, Microsoft announced that an issue was found in the Exchange Server 2010 SP3 Update Rollup 8, which could impact the ability of Outlook clients to connect to an Exchange server.

Now comes news that MS14-082, one of December's seven fixes, can cause Office to misbehave.

Microsoft's mea culpa reports problems with ActiveX forms and broken macros when both Office 2013 and Office 2007 are present.

Google just spilled the beans on a Windows 8.1 vulnerability that could give an attacker elevated privileges and Microsoft is not happy about it.

Microsoft is not happy about it despite have 90 days to fix it or at least release a patch for it that breaks something else. The dinosaurs will keep on roaring about how important Microsoft is.

Sorry to be later than the White Rabbit, but...ahh, I downloaded but never installed W7's SP1 on my newish box, and since it's now been a year I've had the thing running almost flawlessly, I likely won't get round to it for maybe another year.

If it ain't broke I ain't gonna go all Alan Bean hammer time on it.
