True but funny and sad... that's why I left programming. Let them eat cake, bastards never want to pay a dime.

I was thinking of the graphic you posted...

Google this week reversed an overhaul of one of its security-related file formats after the transition broke Android apps.

In November, 2021, Google announced changes to the format of its Chrome Certificate Transparency log list file and, in August, 2022, notified developers whose apps might be affected that it would stop publishing legacy log list files on October 17, 2022.
One rationale for this was a third-party library for Android and JVM (com.appmattus.certificatetransparency) that remained unprepared for the transition to the v3 schema.

"We have been closely monitoring the situation in the third party library," explained Google software engineer Roger Ng in a post to the discussion group.

The situation with the library, maintained mostly by a single UK-based developer, is that a pull request submitted back in September, 2022, to migrate the log file dependency from v2 to v3 was languishing unmerged – the fix was never applied. Those using the library saw the approaching deadline and urged that the change be accepted and merged into the codebase.

But to no avail. The library did not get fixed by February 15, which was when Google stopped providing v2 log list data. And apps broke.

I wish there was a better answer, but it seems this project is not maintained anymore. There were no responses by @m*******, who seems to be the only one able to do something about that.

It seems the workaround currently is the only way, unless someone forks this library and publishes it (and makes sure that multiple maintainers are able to handle critical updates like this one).

Hehe. The pattern and colors of the red and black one (second image that I posted) could work as a shirt. I'd prefer a collar and buttons... I had small collection of rayon shirts with some funky patterns/colors that I'd wear over a t-shirt in the early 90s.

Oh gees, you dislodged a memory. I had one of those color-change t-shirts in the late 80s. You know, you'd put your hand on it for a few seconds and the fabric would change colors from your body heat and leave an outline:

I were things 'baggy' at the time, so the shirt came down a good ways below my waist. While going to English class when wearing that shirt, one of the girls would invariably put their hands on my ass and keep them there for a while before I got to the classroom. I remember being informed by the teacher how inappropriate the outlines of hands were and pretending not to know what she was talking about.
