You know, I don't even watch network TV anymore. I most definitely would not pay for cable. Hell, I use the TV for a monitor, that's about it. Once in while I'll bring up something on the computer and watch. I did skim the opening ceremony, someone uploaded it. I do see some of the crap occasionally because of some forums and what-not. After the past several years, I can't even pretend that corporate 'news' here in the US is something to be taken seriously. I saw (someone uploaded) 60 Minutes giant ad for Ozempic and some other weight loss drug. Skeletor (a.k.a Leslie Stahl was in the ad), Honestly, I thought I'd barf at them trying to pass that shit off as news.
There was an image that went around about a decade ago of a newspaper with the headline, 'Person Under 50 Buys Newspaper'. I imagine an updated version, an image of a TV with some 'news' anchor with the chyron, 'Idiot under 90 watches TV'.
I can understand. I guess what I was getting at with the opening ceremony and all, is that my pretending levels are so diminished that I can't be assed to pretend that that (as you described it) cheap horseshit is entertainment. I most certainly can't be assed to get on some social media site and praise it for updoots. I absolutely won't bother pretending what the majority of landwhales that use social media "thinks" matters in any fucking way.
