Non Hic wrote:Fucking bots!!! I have been clearing a lot of spam and bots in the paste few days!!! I have no idea why they started this week, so odd. Anyway, I had to add a stronger anti spam measure, hopefully, it doesn't annoy the non-logged in users too much. :think:

It seems that ALL picture puzzles for phpbb have been taken out by bots. I reverted back to regular question&answer and they seem to have been stopped... for now. :problem:

I keep changing the question but I am now 99% sure there is a human involved in the background because what I change it to, is not readable by a computer, I mean, the computer bot would not have any clue how to answer it.

Example:

Code: Select all

What are the l a s t four characters of "ab847ae805dc981841618c2d1d"?
You must also add "x1" to the answer but type "1" as a word not a number.

...how the FUCK would a simple spam bot understand that? Definitely some motherfucking asshole human is behind these bots! When the spam bot fails to post, the human gets involved and manually checks these questions and rewrite the rule for the spam bot.

Sons of bitches, wasting time from people and huge server resources...

...on top of that, our statistics also get screwed up! How the hell can we know the true number of visitors and filter out the spam bot visits? !"#¤!"£$$£$£@$"!#¤@£$£!"¤ Probably explains why we have huge number of visitors but not many of them actually talk or post anything. They are all spam bots hitting the server! :sick: :sick: :sick: :sick: :sick: :sick: :sick:

It seems that the Internet as we "oldschoolers" have known it, has long been dead. :neutral: :sad: :cry:

ORIGINAL SUBJECT: "Can't access techtalk.cc website with Opera 12.02"

I used to be able to access this website (foolsdesign - which is now techtalk.cc?) using Opera 12.02 running on Win-98, but as of right now Opera sez:

============
You tried to access the address https://www.techtalk.cc/, which is currently unavailable. Please make sure that the web address (URL) is correctly spelled and punctuated, then try reloading the page.
Secure connection: fatal error (40)
https://www.techtalk.cc/
Failed to connect to server. The reason may be that the encryption methods supported by the server are not enabled in the security preferences.
Please note that some encryption methods are no longer supported, and that access will not be possible until the website has been upgraded to use strong encryption.
===========

When it comes to security protocols, Opera gives me a choice of enabling/disabling SSL3, TLS 1, TLS 1.1, and TLS 1.2. I have them all turned on, and even with SSL3 turned off (and the others on) I still get the above error. Even if I add techtalk.cc to Opera's list of trusted sites.

Any ideas why Opera 12.02 can't connect, but Firefox 2.0.0.20 (which I'm using now to post this) does work?

:!: I have to take a snapshot from the server. We will be offline until it is done. :oops: It will hopefully take, hm, less than about 2 hours or so. :think:

Please expect around 2 hours downtime, taking a new server snapshot soon. :oops:
