The article is about growing organs in the lab using human cells and implanting "them back into the people from whose cells they came". It doesn't take too much imagination to imagine the day when hundreds or thousands of vaginas could be grown in the lab. Perhaps scientist will find a way to keep the tissue living, perhaps you'll be able to put your vagina back in it's nutrient bath and it'll keep for a few years. Electrical stimulation could be used to keep the muscles tight. Best of all, there wouldn't be a orifice attached that's sole purpose is to make sounds.
