In what could be a landmark case, the Redmond, Wash. company is arguing that such a warrant is not justified by law or the Constitution. Microsoft and other tech firms also fear that if the government prevails and can reach across borders, foreign individuals and businesses will flee to their non-U.S. competitors.

A privacy group, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, is planning to file an amicus brief this week that will argue in part that if Microsoft was to copy the data in Dublin so it can be retrieved by employees in Redmond, that act of copying would amount to a seizure under the Fourth Amendment, which the judge, the group says, does not have jurisdiction to order.

Hm, I usually get cheap keyboards because it's something I like to switch often. Although, those HP-keyboards are really good and last a good while. They are for business use and cost around I think $20 last time I bought one. The ones that have a gray line above.

I used to buy several of them in case they disappeared. I really liked them. I'm on a Microsoft crappy one right now but this is just a laptop. Going to build a new PC soon so then I will take out my luxury keyboard.

Microsoft, at it again, playing both sides of the field. First they give the NSA access to their servers, then when they get caught, they are on this whole bullshit agenda to make their company look as if they're good samaritans. If someone is truly concerned with data security, they shouldn't be using Windows. I will not use an operating system with a known back door in it.

Microsoft declined to answer questions about the kill switch in Windows 8 other than to say it will only be able to remove or change applications downloaded through the new app store. Any software loaded from a flash drive, DVD, or directly from the Web will remain outside Microsoft's control.

...and that's why they are trying hard to kill Windows (and other operating systems in general) as we know them. To lock things down heavily. They are forcing the herd into the invisible prison, feudalism in IT.
