@Walt43,

I think most of your points were toward the hard work of PROBLEMCHYLD and these posts would have been better in his Unofficial Windows 98 Second Edition Service Pack.... He has done an excellent job and I hope that history will remember him and his work! :mrgreen:

Anyway, thank you very much for your kind words and hopefully, you will find your home right here with us in TechTalk.cc as many of us have done so.

Ps. Remember that many many many people out there hate us and do everythng in their power to stop this place so please spread the word about http://www.TechTalk.cc.

Welcome aboard! :grin: :relaxed:

For example, I was thinking of doing one about install 9x/ME on modern computers and would like some help with it. The more I think about it I guess I could just start a "help-me with my posting" topic here in the lounge, maybe being over-zealous with the members-only idea. I suppose if I'd ask for edits later on someone would do that -- kinda like the edits made to the Unofficial Windows 98 SE Service Packs first entry, right?

I hope this Request has not died an is still being thought about, because;

this is my current effort. True, I am first working on renewing 98SE OS onto my AT, but I have six computers and one of them works.
Maybe I can be the Guinea pig for this effort??. I am struggling but would help this effort for you to watch.
BTW: Wutz a "help-me with my posting"?

...100% agree! :clap: I will probably be upgrading the forums to a new version, I will try to look into that as well, maybe it can be added somehow. I know we have this in the profile picture section so it shouldn't be impossible to add. :think:

We have a search: type "site:techtalk.cc <YOUR SEARCH WORDS HERE>" in Google. I disabled the built-in function because of server CPU load and reduced database size back when we had a shared hosting and it really wasn't all that good and couldn't find stuff.

Google search is much better in my humble opinion, although, I should put some kind of easy link to it I guess but I'll see if the new version is better to re-activate it again. :relaxed:

On a side note, search is only visible for members. I don't want anonymous bots to hit the server too hard. :mrgreen:

Hm, what if we offered "http://www.techtalk.cc/<user name>/" (Example: http://www.techtalk.cc/nonhic) ...which would point to user's own forum section with admin rights in that section and also visible in front page? Would people be interested in that? :think: :?: :idea:

Of course, we would have to at least have a few active users for that. :eh: :problem:
