Am I thinking of these things in the right way? Almost super-486 processors, with more cache and some features of later processors (MMX, 3DNow! and whatever extensions to 3DNow! were added).

I think the NX series were more similar to Athlons :?:

I have a couple of toys with Geodes in them. I'll have to play with and see if some of the things I'm curious about, such as disabling the cache and getting something that resembles 386 behavior outta the things is possible.

I think DM&P may have made some processors for industrial use (perhap thin clients too?) that could be looked at in a similar way.
