Does it support PNG ?

No doesn't seem to support PNG. Opera 3.62 supposedly does, but it crashes constantly in the DLL that handles them. If you want to use it, basically you have to delete that DLL. Netscape, seems to be the best, but I have all scripting and some other stuff turned off. You have me wondering if perhaps there may be a plugin floating around somewhere.

If we earned any money from running this Web site, I swear I would make it work, fully, 100% in ALL operating systems. From *nix to Win 3.x to AMIGA OS to... you name it.

I like the way the maximize and minimize buttons are separated from the control menu button. In my opinion it's almost a shame that this was done away with. It's also not too difficult to see that the Program Manager, with a little refactoring, could have been kept instead of switching to Explorer. Imagine Program Manager with a programs menu, eliminating the 'program groups' in Windows 3.x. Also imagine a customizable toolbar, to set up shortcuts to your favorite progams and a clock shown on the toolbar. Add some of the right-click context menues (like explorer has). I rather imagine that in a parallel universe this is likely what Microsoft did.

Every time I see those buttony buttons from Windows 3.x or when I login to an older server with that old theme... I so much miss them! They were sooo buttony. I hate the new flat shit theme of 7 and 8. Fucking bastards, ruined everything! Why the FUCK don't they allow us to use the old themes? They are just some bitmaps! Motherfuckers! !"#%£$@£$@$£!

The flat look thing is in now. We can't forget the lowest common denominator rule. The more dumbed down things are, the better it is for society. I mean some people cannot even figure out how to buckle a seat belt anymore. I guess providing depth to GUI elements such as minimize and close on the title bar and elsewhere is now not popular because Microsoft says it's not, and of course they dictate how you will be using your user interface. Not all hope is lost, though, because there's always Linux which you can customize to no end, and we have to wait to see how Windows 9 looks. Even the upcoming KDE 5's UI has changed quite a bit from its predecessor:

I used to be a KDE user. I thought KDE 4.0 was such a disaster I switched to GNOME. I hate the fact that my right button doesn't do what I want it to do. But the whole "break everything" model is painful for users and they can choose to use something else.
I realise the reason for the 4.0 release, but I think they did it badly. They did so may changes it was a half-baked release. It may turn out to be the right decision in the end and I will re-try KDE, but I suspect I'm not the only person they lost.
Luckily Gnome and KDE aren't the only games in town.
