The very very very far far far future though, I mean after the cyborg "era", that one, I think maybe me and only very few (if any) have predicted. Maybe I'm the first and only one actually? I can see a future where A.I. invents artificial cells, on nano scale. Actual body cells, it could start injecting these into the body, each "virgin" cell, would then start finding any cell, and it becomes that cell, starts taking over the job of that cell and then kills and removes that cell. The effect would be, a fully synthetic body, fully synthetic cells, no aging, no death. Immortality.
Of course, then you would get into the philosophical realm, where if you replace every section of a ship with new sections, is it still the same ship? Would the soul still be able to allocate such a synthetic body or would it depart from it?
Either way, I don't think this stuff is too long away, as soon as A.I.'s development becomes exponential, and "singularity" starts, I think it would take only months, maybe even weeks.
Sounds crazy but I think no, I also think maybe this is what the book of revelation in the bible is talking about:
Revelation 9:6 "In those days people will seek death, and will in no way find it. They will desire to die, and death will flee from them."
A fully synthetic body, will never die. Of course, it will not be a glorified body, like the one Yehoshua got. But who am I to get such a glorified body? A sinner like me, will never be worthy of such.
