WineD3D builds for Windows

Curious if anyone's played with this particularly on 9x?

It can implement versions of Direct3D for Windows versions that Microsoft doesn't want to support (e.g. D3D10 on XP/2000/9x).

I see someone filed a bug at Wine:

Their reply was the obvious:

Third party apps are not supported here. Ask for help from whoever created those packages...

I note that the bug mentions DxDiag, which, of course, isn't part of that package. Perhaps it would be best not to have DirectX installed on the test machine? I don't know.

I see someone using Windows 8 fixed a "slow rendering" issue using files from the package on a game called Divine Divinity: ... ng_wined3d
