The new Android Surface "phone"

Well, they did it. It's not on BSD either. Color me shocked:

I'm reading the 'experience' ranges from really awkward to straight-up awful, but those things can be worked out either through patches or later hardware (Might I suggest a more 'normal' single screen phone for the line-up?). The specs on the thing aren't terrible and apparently it has an unlockable bootloader...

Again, shocked.

I suppose, in a sense, that's true. Although, Android, on a Linux kernel, with source that includes a statement to install Ubuntu to compile, the Google APIs still intact from Microsoft. I guess maybe it's just acknowledgement of the reality of the situation they're in. I don't know, nonetheless it's interesting.

I assume the "phone" reference is being sarcastic?

It's not sounding so hot. I didn't realize this was intended to run a version of Windows.

Windows 10X will be available on dual-screen and foldable devices starting in the fall of 2020, in time for the holiday season.
