'!' claims they were A.I. bots, I don't know for sure. However, it's not too difficult to imagine that, if you can design a spambot and a chat-generating AI, you could likely tie the two of them together.
Case in point, Steven W, we both just got the shaft. The "person" we both responded to isn't real. Go check its profile, it has a spam link as web site. There are currently more members similar to this one. Very messed up and creepy.
