Here is what it say:

I do not see anything illegal here. But if by some chance it is, then most things from MSFN forum can be considered illegal.

So I have located and downloaded the files Bs_ram9x.zip, Bs_ram9x_V102.zip, Vcache.zip and Vmm98sed.zip.
Are these files (or - is one of these) the file that was being discussed (and then removed) from the MSFN thread?
Am I missing any file that's relavent to this thread?
Am I correct in assuming that this German memory patch (ie - these files) *does not* give Win-98 the ability to USE more ram than it normally can, but instead simply hides some system ram from 98 so it can run on a system with more than 1 gb of physical ram?

My German isn't the best but, from what I make of it -- it's saying that if you use the 2 files in vmm98sed.zip that you should be able to use up to 4 GB ram. I can't quite understand what's being said about vcache, perhaps you have to use it too so that you don't need to put entries into the INI files. That's what I'm making of it.
If true and not stolen from R. Leow, then -- Wunderbar! I've read elsewhere that only a few bites of the original MS files were changed (speaking of VMM.vxd and VMM32.VXD -- included in vmm98sed.zip).

I just dropped vmm.vxd and vmm32.vxd into my system and cleaned out the entries I put in for memory issues from the system.ini. I get an error message on booting I think it's one of those something referred to in the system.ini or registry can't be found. I did not apply the vcache patch. Anyway:
I wanted to do some tests, but didn't succeed to find those files, just dead links.
Can you tell me where, please? This is my one of my emails: rf.masterx[at]gmail[dot]com

I don't see a problem with linking to this stuff either. If we find out that it's ripped off then we can make our own decisions. I won't look at this in a hex-editor until someone else decides.

Thank you Steven.
I just checked the files, these files are from the German version of Windows 98 Se.
