I'm a little slow too. Is VCACHE.VXD 4.10.2223 from MDGx site or RFMaster VCACHE patch needed if I use the G-VMM32 Patcher.exe?
Basically, RFMaster's patch does something similar. When I first, got this going on my system, I didn't realize what I was patching while editing VCACHE.vxd, I was just "changing numbers" to match another file. The Unofficial Windows 98 SE Out Of Memory Errors VCACHE.VXD 4.10.2223 Fix works just as well, if not better.
Hope RFMaster isn't too mad at me!

But you must know this vmm32.vxd can't be rebuilded with all versions of vcache...
There are various ways.
If you have patched vcache in your C:windowssystemvmm32 folder you don't need to rebuild your vmm32.vxd with patched vcache,
in that case all you have to patch is vmm32.vxd...

Ok guys,
Let me get this straight
1) I have patched the original VMM32.VXD from the Win98 CD with RFMaster patch. What else do I need to do?
2) I have a patched version of VCACHE.VXD 4.10.2223 from REMOVED BY MODERATOR: Hyperlink. DUTCH LAW DOES NOT ALLOW HYPERLINKING TO WAREZ MATERIAL.. I also have the patch from RFMaster REMOVED BY MODERATOR: Hyperlink. THE AUTHOR ISSUED A REMOVE ORDER. Which version should I use in SP3?
3) What is the difference between RFMaster and Xeno86 VCACHE.VXD? Xeno86 file is limited to Cache 384 MB. What is RFMaster limit?
4) I want to add the best/overall solution to the SP.
5) If you look at http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/118097- ... 1-gib-ram/ As you can see, many people need to edit their SYSTEM.INI for Xeno86 VCACHE.VXD file based on their hardware. We are looking to avoid redundancy and after that, I can automate the task.

Guys, please!
I understand your curiosity.
But you should understand that i can not describe each steps, becuse it is so many different ways in which this can be done
and there is so much details, so i can not describe all of them!
Plus(or minus) i do not have time to give you answers for all your questions.

You should not add any of this to your SP because it will be useless if vmm32.vxd file from WindowsSystem folder isn't patched!
Do you understand now? You can not patch vmm32.vxd with your SP!

Yes, I know that. I was referring to patched VMM.VXD 4.10.2226 and VCACHE.VXD 4.10.2223.RFMaster wrote:you understand now? You can not patch vmm32.vxd with your SP!
@ Steven W
I added VCACHE.VXD back
